The Castor Tree (Ricinus Communis) has different names in other regions in Indonesia, some call it as Jarak Kepyar, Jarak Kaliki, Dulang and others, but we call it Jarak Keliki.

The shape of the leaves is like a hand or a star and according to the story of Resi Markandya’s journey, this tree emits light (possibly this light is because the leaves contain phosphorus).

This Castor Tree is a wild plant that grows in empty land or forests and immortalized on textile through eco printing process.
